National Energy Competition - Final Gala

For 10 years, and thus since the beginning of the existence of the Competition, we are its patron. For ten years, we have been observing young people from high schools and universities

who share with others their view on the energy sector and vision of solving the problems of modern energy.

As it was in previous editions, the task of this year's participants was to submit a written paper that addresses one of the ten proposed topics in two age categories. The works were evaluated by a jury composed of personalities from the energy world, scientists and practitioners. Substantive supervision over the competition was carried out by MSc. Eng. Edward Słoma - Director of the Department of Regulation and Institutional Cooperation in PGNiG TERMIKA S.A. The competition jury was chaired by D. Eng. Andrzej Nehrebecki, who is an energy expert. The author of the project is Dr Halina Rechul.

The Selection Board decided to award a title of the Laureate of the Prof. Jacek Malko 10th National Energy Competition to the following people:

in the younger youth group:
• Weronice Kozieł for a synthetic presentation of basic concepts and issues related to the broadly defined energy industry, and the presentation of interesting examples and unusual methods of obtaining electricity, which significantly increases the popularizing value of the work,
• Aleksandrze Marii Oto for exceptional refining of the work in terms of concept, logic and editorial, thanks to which it acquires significant cognitive and educational values

in the older youth group:
• Radosławowi Horbikowi for reliable presentation of current development trends in Polish power industry with particular emphasis on RES energy production, supported by SWOT analysis and a convincing literature review,
• Jakubowi Ochmannowi for the multi-faceted expert approach without favouring specific technologies and for tackling the issues of heating, gas, nuclear energy and conscious energy use.
Jakub Ochmann is a student at the Silesian University of Technology. As a part of one of the prizes, he will be fostered by EPKariera program and will fulfil an internship at EPK.

The Gala was attended by Aneta Szubert, who has been the Ambassador of the Competition for years.
