The President of the Board, Andrzej Kowalski, took part in the ceremony of signing the Founding Act and laying the cornerstone for the construction of the combined heat and power unit basing on the combustion piston engines in PGE GiEK SA, Elektrociepłownia Rzeszów Branch.
This will be the first power facility of this type in the PGE capital group and currently the largest gas-fired engine unit in Poland. The new gas-fired engine cogeneration unit will consist of four ABB electric generators powered by the Rolls-Royce piston engines. The total electric power of the unit will be approximately 29 MWe and thermal power will be around 27 MWt.
Our Office is the author of the heat source concept based on the gas engines and the feasibility study of the planned source of heat and electricity with the gas combustion engines. EPK had also developed the complete construction documentation on the basis of which the valid building permit for the planned investment was issued.
