On 20-21 September, Warsaw held the 14th International Euro Power Conference — organized by MMG Conferences Sp. z o.o. Its high note was the Great Gala of "World Energy" Leaders, at which prizes were awarded for promoting effective solutions and implementation of innovative products in the energy market. We received honorable mention in the category of Leader of Products and Services for Power Engineering.
Awarding Committee of "World Energy" Leaders competition led by Krzysztof Żmijewski awarded trophies and awards in ten categories. Prizes were given to the best companies in the energy sector, among others Enea, Energa Operator, PGNiG and Tauron and PSE-Operator. Also two special awards were awarded to honor people who have contributed to the development of energy sector in Poland – statuettes of "World Energy" Leader in the Manager of the Year and Man of the Year categories.
Professor Jerzy Buzek, president of the European Parliament, Chairman of the Social Council of the National Emission Reduction Program was awarded the Man of the Year 2011 title. In the Manager of the Year 2011 category, the prize was awarded to Radosław Dudziński, Vice President of the Board for Strategy at PGNiG.
In the Manufacturer of the Year category, the winner was Tauron Wytwarzanie for the effective management of manufacturing assets and projects in terms of manufacturing. Honors were received by: Poldanor and PEC Siedlce.
In the Transmission and Distribution Company of the Year category, the statuette was awarded to Energa Operator, which was the first company to attempt to implement a system of intelligent distribution networks. Honorable mentions were awarded to: Radomskie Przedsiębiorstwo Energetyki Cieplnej and PKP Energetyka.
W kategorii Firma Handlowa Roku 2011 nagrodę otrzymała Enea za oferowanie Klientom konkurencyjnej cenowo energii elektrycznej spełniającej ekologiczne standardy zarówno krajowe jak również unijne. Wyróżnienia otrzymały: Energa Obrót oraz Tauron Sprzedaż.
In the Recipient of the Year 2011 category, RE ALLOYS was awarded for the applied environmental solutions and energy efficiency in the production process of metallurgic products. Honorable mentions were awarded to: City of Poznan and Podkarpacki Klub Biznesu.
In the Investor of the Year 2011 category, the World Energy Leader award was given to PGNiG and Tauron duo for joint investment in Stalowa Wola - the gas-steam unit. Honorable mentions were awarded to: Gaz System and Dalkia Polska.
In the category of Environmental Protection Leader, the statuette was awarded to the Capital City of Warsaw for the promotion of biomass application in the thermal power plants in the capital, use of solar energy in public facilities and the use of biofuels and electricity in transport. Honorable mentions were awarded to: City of Bielsko-Biała and BASF Polska.
The World Energy Leader in the IT Leader category was Innsoft for the application of practical solutions for energy consumers and local producers. Honorable mentions were awarded to: TIETO Poland and NMG.
In the Company of the Year 2011 category, the award of the World Energy Leader was given to PSE-Operator for commencement of investment works associated with the construction of the power bridge between Poland and Lithuania, as well as actions for a new connection with Germany. Honorable mentions were awarded to: EDF Polska and PKN Orlen.
In the Events Promoter of the Year 2011 category, the jury awarded the prize of the World Energy Leader to Dr. Jan Rączka, president of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management for the organization of Energy-Effect-Environment Forum, promoting smart grid, energy efficient buildings, microgeneration. Honorable mentions were awarded to: Jacek Szymczak, Polish Heat Chamber of Commerce president and Grzegorz Onichimowski, president of the Polish Power Exchange.
In the category of Leader of Products and Services for Power Engineering, the World Energy Leader statuette was awarded to: WATT for high-quality non-emission solar collectors and solar heating systems. Honorable mentions were awarded to: Energoprojekt-Katowice SA and Eko-energetyka Zachód.
